Assalamualikum. Overseas Pakistani Student here. In English Linguistics exam, there were a total of 40 questions out of which 34 were MCQ’s, 4 short questions, 3 long questions. MCQ’s weren’t difficult, they were quite easy. As for the short and long questions, they are listed below: Short Questions: 1. Explain Briefly the “Wave Model”. 2. What do you mean by structural ambiguity of sentences? Give its example. 3. State the definition of “ Sign Linguistics”. 4. Describe briefly the relationship between language, culture, and society with reference to social cultural context in pragmatics. Long Questions: 1. Explain “ Particle Movement”. 2. What does Discourse Analysis mean and what is the role of language user? 3. What is Grimm’s law? Explain.
